The Children's Services Act (CSA) is a law enacted in 1993 that established a single state pool of funds to purchase services for at- risk youth and their families. The state funds, combined with local community funds, are managed by local interagency teams who plan and oversee services to youth.
Throughout Virginia, teams known as Community Policy and Management Teams (CPMTs) implement the Children's Services Act as specified by the code of Virginia. The governing bodies of Rockingham County and the city of Harrisonburg work jointly to implement the CSA locally through the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Community Policy and Management Team with the goal of strengthening and reuniting families.
Mission / Vision Statement
The Harrisonburg Rockingham CPMT believes that the family and home environment provides the best support for raising children. The CPMT shall pursue and encourage collaborative activities that seek to insure the provision of child-centered, family-focused, community-based services. The goal is to preserve the family by providing appropriate services, while protecting the welfare of the children and maintaining the safety of the public.
