[ARCHIVED] National Parks in Virginia drive Economic Development

When you consider the factors that surround trips to our National Parks here in the Commonwealth, a picture emerges of the substantial impact our Park system has. In 2012, more than 23 million visitors came to see over 400 park sites in Virginia, and the resulting expenditures on lodging, meals, park services like admission fees, gas for travel, and souvenirs add up to nearly $1 billion dollars in economic benefits.
