The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors, at a meeting held on March 11, 2020, informed the public and those interested parties present, that the Board would conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at the Rockingham County Administration Center, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia, during the 7:00 p.m. portion of the meeting, to consider adoption of Article XI of Chapter 11 “Inoperable Vehicles” of the Code of Ordinances of Rockingham County.  This Public Notice is given for the purpose of informing the public that the promised public hearing is indefinitely postponed due to COVID-19 and concerns about social distancing and meetings involving groups of people.  Though not required by law, the Board commits to refrain from further consideration of the proposed ordinance until after the public has had an opportunity to comment.  Please monitor the Daily News Record and the County’s website for notice of the rescheduled public hearing.  As a reminder, the new ordinance regulates the keeping and storage of inoperable vehicles within the County. The ordinance requires that inoperable vehicles be kept inside a building unless certain exceptions apply.

A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available for review in the County Administrator’s Office, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia and on the County’s website:  www.rockinghamcountyva.gov
