The regular April 8, 2020, meeting of the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors will proceed as scheduled, but will be conducted in accordance with significant modifications to normal processes due to social distancing precautions adopted to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The Board meeting on April 8th will include the public hearing for the budget for fiscal year 2020-2021. The extraordinary precautions will also apply to the public hearing portion of the meeting. The precautions and procedures adopted are the result of balancing public participation with public health and safety concerns. The regular business meeting and public hearing will both begin at 6 p.m.
The meeting will be broadcast online. Instructions on how to participate in the meeting can be found at the bottom of this page.
The Board of Supervisors encourages participation via the on-line methods provided. However, if someone feels they must attend in person they may do so, subject to the limitation that no more than 10 people from the public will be allowed in the Board room at any one time. Those who would increase the number of people from the public to eleven or more will be asked to wait in their car until signaled to enter the building. Entering and exiting the building will be through separate doors. Staff will assist you in this process.
Public comments will be accepted via email prior to the meeting here. Public comments will continue to be accepted until at least the April 22nd Board of Supervisors meeting. Anyone wishing to speak in person, must email a request in advance here. In person comments may be accommodated on April 8th or April 22nd.
