ROCKINGHAM CARES FUND ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors approved the establishment of the Rockingham County Cares Fund in partnership with The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

On June 1, 2020, the County received funds from the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund to be utilized in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors voted to appropriate $250,000 to go directly towards community assistance, including children’s services, food, shelter, utilities and other COVID-19 relief efforts. Those funds will be distributed to nonprofit organizations located in or serving Rockingham County.

Grant funding must be used for qualified expenses due to the Coronavirus public health emergency between March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020. Applications will be accepted starting October 15. The application deadline is October 28 at 5:00PM.
