Supervisor Kyger began serving on the Board of Supervisors in 1988, and his current term expires December 31, 2023. He has served as chairman and vice-chairman in the past. Additionally, Supervisor Kyger serves on the following Board committees: Automobile, City - County Liaison, Augusta - Rockingham Liaison, and the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) liaison.
He is a past president of VACo (2008) and currently serves as the board of director’s Region 9 representative. Additionally, he is active on VACo’s Compensation and Retirement Steering Committee.
Supervisor Kyger retired from teaching government in the County school system.
District 4 includes the towns of Bridgewater and Mount Crawford, the North River area, and the communities of Briery Branch, Montezuma, Pleasant Valley, Ottobine, and a portion of Hinton.
