Pay by Phone
You can now pay your county taxes through our (888) 2PAY-TAX phone payment service. With this service, you can pay taxes 24 hours a day, seven days a week using your credit card for a small convenience fee. Using your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express you can pay your taxes from your home or office.
When you call (888) 272-9829 from a touch-tone phone, you will be prompted to enter the following information:
- Enter Jurisdiction Code 1075
- Enter payment type: Personal Property, Real Estate
- Enter the five-digit bill or ticket number
- Enter your daytime telephone number including area code
- Enter payment amount
- Enter your credit card number
- Enter the expiration date of your credit card
The system will give you a verbal receipt confirmation number. Please save the receipt number for future reference.
Please note: Our service provider, Official Payments Corporation, charges a 3% convenience fee for tax payments by telephone and online payments. These fees are charged for each credit card payment authorized through (888) 2PAY-TAX.
Pay by Mail
Make checks and money orders payable to Rockingham County Treasurer and mail to:

Tax bills, utility payments, landfill payments, dog licenses, vehicle license fees, and state tax payments can be paid by mail. Mail payments early to make sure that the envelope is postmarked on or before the due date.
24-Hour Drop Box
You can pay your taxes and utility payments by dropping them off at our 24-hour drop box located in front of the County Administration Center:
20 E. Gay St.
Harrisonburg, VA 22802
Please do not deposit cash in the drop box. Payments are on-time if they are deposited by 5:00 pm on the due date.
Pay in Person
You can pay your taxes and utility payments in person at the Treasurer’s Office located in the County Administration Center at 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
Our office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Payments can be made by check, money order, or cash.
You may also pay your bill online with the Online Bill Pay Service.
