AlertThere have been reports of individuals impersonating Rockingham County Public Works employees asking to test resident’s water pressure and requesting to enter homes.

Rockingham County Public Works employees will NEVER ask to enter your residence or ask for money.

Each employee has an identification badge, Rockingham County apparel and will be in a Rockingham County vehicle with “Local Government” tags.

Responsibilities

The Department of Public Works is responsible for:

  • The proper operation and maintenance of the water and sewer distribution systems
  • The efficient production of treated water at the Three Springs Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
  • The daily operation of a solid waste disposal facility
  • The daily operation of a recycling program
  • The maintenance of County vehicles
  • The maintenance of the County buildings
  • The repair / replacement of County signs
