General Information

Any person 21 years of age or older may apply in writing to the Clerk of the Circuit Court in which he or she resides, or if he or she is a member of the United States Armed Forces, the county, or city in which he or she is domiciled, for a five-year permit to carry a concealed handgun. §18.2-308.02, 06

The application filing fee for our locality is $40.

Use our online application system by Permitium to submit your information. You will need to upload your competency certificate, a picture of your photo ID and pay online via credit card.		View or download the VSP Concealed Handgun Permit Application to print and file in our office. Form is also available in the Circuit Court lobby before the security checkpoint.
